Bodmin - Camel Trail Walk, North Cornwall

This week's photos come from a walk suggested by a colleague, and as the start of the walk was only a five minute walk from my home I thought I would give it a try. The walk starts at Bodmin Gaol, the famous Cornish prison which is now a Museum and Restaurant. The walk starts with an incline, but this is probably the only strenuous part, because when you get to the top you are at the highest point and it is all downhill or level from then on. At the top of the hill you turn left and proceed through a narrow lane, past a ripening wheat field, which I must remember to visit again when it is fully ripe or after it has been cut. You wil then descend through woodland until you join up with the less used Camel Trail to Hellandbridge. Eventually you will come to Dunmere where you can make a stop at the Borough Arms for a refreshing pint. The final leg is the Dunmere to Bodmin stretch of The Camel Way until I eventually finished in Bodmin back at the start of my walk. I had a very pleasant day, the walk was easy and at about 3 miles was not too strenuous. Details of this and other walks can be found in Classic Walks Cornwall 2. The final photograph below is of an unusual cloud formation spotted over Bodmin.
